Advent Resources
“Open wide your door to the one who comes. Open your soul, throw open the depths of your heart to see the riches of simplicity, the treasures of peace, the sweetness of grace. Open your heart and run to meet the Sun of eternal light that illuminates all men.”
St. Ambrose of Milan
Advent, like Lent, is a time of preparation. We prepare in the next weeks to celebrate the Feast of Christmas, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Advent is an ideal time to surrender your cares and anxieties to the Lord, to add a bit more prayer into your daily routine, and slow down.
Please see Bishop Senior’s Advent Letter in English and Español for guidance on preparing for Advent.
And below, you will find several Advent Resources to use during this season of preparation.

Plan to go to Confession During Advent
As you prepare for Advent, make time for Confession. It’s available at the Historic Church Monday through Thursday after 7:00 a.m. Mass, as well as on Saturdays after 4:00 p.m. Mass.
Local Catholic Churches within the Adams Deaneery have planned Advent Penance Services (see the list on the right). Ours takes place Saturday, December 20, at 10:00 a.m. You are welcome to go to whichever Pennance Service suits your schedule.
Plan ahead for a good Confession by using the Confession Guide below.
Advent Playlist
Our Director of Evangelization, Becca Dickerson, has created an Advent playlist to help people prepare for the Feast of Christmas. Give it a listen!
