Dear parish family and friends,
In today’s bulletin you’ll find our annual Parish Spiritual Statistical Report and Year-End Financial Report for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. I hope you will take a few minutes to look through them. Numbers can never tell the whole story of a parish – because they cannot measure faith, prayer, generosity, conversion, or the quiet ways that God works in people’s lives – but they can give us a glimpse of what God is doing among us. And there is much we can be grateful for!
During the past year, we celebrated 54 baptisms: 24 infants, 22 children and young people, and 8 adults. Another 4 adults were received into full communion with the Catholic Church. That means 12 adults entered the Church through Baptism or reception into full communion.
We rejoiced as 59 children received their First Holy Communion and 54 young people were confirmed. We celebrated 6 weddings and 8 convalidations, whereby a couple receives sacramental validity of their existing non-sacramental marriage.
We also accompanied 42 parishioners and families through death, entrusting our brothers and sisters to the mercy of God and supporting those who mourn.
While we are still in the midst of cleaning up our parish registry, as of June 30, St. Francis Xavier included 2,317 registered households and 6,898 registered individuals. Behind every one of those numbers is a person or family who is part of our parish family.
Our financial report also gives us reason for gratitude. Parish operational income for the year was approximately $2.67 million – about $176,000 above budget – while operational expenses were approximately $2.46 million, about $62,000 below budget. After all operational and non-operational income and expenses, the parish finished the fiscal year with a surplus of $244,433.94. From that surplus, we were also able to repay the Diocese the $56,727.39 associated with the previous year's deficit.
That is a significant turnaround, and it did not happen because of any one person. It happened through the generosity of parishioners, careful stewardship by our staff and Finance Council, the hard work taking place in our church and school, and the willingness of so many people to share their time, talent, and treasure with our parish.
Please take some time to read the full reports included in this bulletin. To me, this overall picture of our parish is one that is alive. As I learned in the seminary through the words of St. John Henry Newman – to live is to change and to grow perfect is to have changed often. While, we are far from perfect, we are truly growing thanks to your openness, willingness, and trust. There is much more work to do, but we have much to build upon.

Querida familia parroquial y amigos,
En el boletín de hoy encontrarán nuestro Informe Estadístico Anual de la Vida Espiritual de la Parroquia y nuestro Informe Financiero de Fin de Año, correspondientes al período del 1 de julio de 2025 al 30 de junio de 2026. Espero que puedan dedicar unos minutos a leerlos. Los números nunca cuentan toda la historia de una parroquia, porque no pueden medir la fe, la oración, la generosidad ni las maneras silenciosas en que Dios obra entre nosotros. Pero sí nos permiten ver algo de todo lo que el Señor está haciendo. ¡Y tenemos mucho por lo cual dar gracias!
Durante el último año celebramos 54 bautismos: 24 de bebés, 22 de niños y jóvenes, y 8 de adultos. Además, 4 adultos fueron recibidos en plena comunión con la Iglesia Católica.
También celebramos con alegría 59 Primeras Comuniones, 54 Confirmaciones, 6 bodas y 8 convalidaciones, por medio de las cuales un matrimonio recibe validez sacramental en la Iglesia.
Acompañamos también a 42 feligreses y a sus familias en el momento de la muerte, encomendando a nuestros hermanos y hermanas a la misericordia de Dios y apoyando a quienes lloran su pérdida.
Aunque todavía estamos actualizando nuestro registro parroquial, al 30 de junio San Francisco Javier contaba con 2,317 hogares registrados y 6,898 personas registradas. Detrás de cada número hay una persona o una familia que forma parte de nuestra familia parroquial.
Nuestro informe financiero también nos da motivos para agradecer. Los ingresos operativos fueron de aproximadamente $2.67 millones, unos $176,000 por encima de lo presupuestado, mientras que los gastos operativos fueron de aproximadamente $2.46 millones, unos $62,000 por debajo de lo presupuestado. La parroquia terminó el año fiscal con un superávit de $244,433.94, y también pudimos pagar a la Diócesis los $56,727.39 correspondientes al déficit del año anterior.
Este cambio significativo fue posible gracias a la generosidad de nuestros feligreses, al cuidado responsable de nuestros recursos y al trabajo de tantas personas en nuestra iglesia y escuela.

Como aprendí en el seminario por medio de las palabras de San John Henry Newman: “Vivir es cambiar, y llegar a la perfección es haber cambiado muchas veces.” Aunque estamos lejos de ser perfectos, verdaderamente estamos creciendo gracias a su apertura, su disposición y su confianza. Todavía queda mucho por hacer, pero también tenemos mucho sobre lo cual seguir construyendo.
