Prayer for Children and Youth Going Back to School | Oración por los niños y jóvenes que regresan a clases

Dear Parish family and friends,

As our children go back to schools and universities, our prayers accompany them in this new academic year.  Please join me in praying for them:

Loving and Gracious Father, we offer this prayer today for your dear children.  As they enter into this new school year, we entrust them into your hands.  Please bless them with an abundance of your grace for every need they will have.  Endow them with wisdom and knowledge, strength and courage.  Guide with the light of your Holy Spirit to perceive what is right.  Grant them the courage to pursue it, and the grace to accomplish it.

Lord, please bless all schools, colleges, and universities, that they may be centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom.  May their teachers and professors be channels of learning.  And may they awaken in our children the thirst for truth, which comes from our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  

O God, amid their academic endeavors and extracurricular pursuits, may our children seek you first, and by their lives give you glory and honor.  We make this prayer through Christ, our Lord.  Amen.

Also, I’d love to keep in touch with our young adults while they’re away at college.  Just send me their email address and contact info at frtmarcoe@hbgdiocese.org, and each month, I’ll send out a short email with words of encouragement, helping them to remember the support of their parish back home.

A medida que nuestros hijos regresan a las escuelas y universidades, nuestras oraciones los acompañan en este nuevo año académico. Por favor, únanse a mí para orar por ellos:

Padre amoroso y lleno de gracia, hoy elevamos esta oración por tus amados hijos. Al prepararse para el inicio de un nuevo año escolar, los encomendamos a tus manos. Bendícelos con la abundancia de tu gracia para cada necesidad que afronten. Dótalos de sabiduría y conocimiento, de fortaleza y valentía. Guíalos con la luz de tu Espíritu Santo para discernir lo que es correcto; concédeles el valor para buscarlo y la gracia para llevarlo a cabo.

Señor, bendice todas las escuelas, colegios y universidades, para que sean centros de sana enseñanza, de nuevos descubrimientos y de búsqueda de la sabiduría. Que sus maestros y profesores sean canales de aprendizaje y que despierten en nuestros hijos la sed de verdad, la cual proviene de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida.

Oh Dios, que en medio de sus actividades académicas y extracurriculares, nuestros hijos te busquen a Ti en primer lugar y que, con sus vidas, te den gloria y honor. Te lo pedimos por Cristo, nuestro Señor. Amén.
